Glueckstein's new book is an exposition of Churchill's experience as a racehorse owner. The statesman was 75 when he bought his first racehorse, Colonist II - a grey, French-bred colt. The horse proved to be just as steadfast and courageous as Churchill himself, Glueckstein says, and became one of the most popular and remarkable horses of his era, capturing the heart of a nation.
